My cell rang at 12. It was my mom.
"Hello delicate flower!" She said.
"Hi mom." I said.
"So I can't really talk but I am basically going to sum up the rest of your life in the next minute." She started. I didn't really catch her drift so I was just letting her go.
"Your poppa and I have decided to move to Chicago and you're coming with us. There is a boy there named Patrick Kane, who is a center for the Chicago Blackhawks. You see honey that your father and his approved this idea when you were a tot of a planned marriage back then. You are going to marry this boy and bare his children. He is 25 and wants kids, so basically be prepared to become a mom within the next year. Don't worry about college because his parents already checked out the nursing programs around the Chicago area and they said they are very good. Your plane will leave Pittsburgh International in less than two hours so pack as much as you can and we will have Leo come for the rest." She said. Leo was her personal assistant. My father was a famous architect in California so our family is rich.
I was beginning to think of what she said.
"Well I will be waiting to see you at the airport with your future husband. Peace out flower." She said. Then the phone line clicked off.
I was in an arranged marriage? What? After last night, the only person I want is Sidney. I had to say goodbye to my internship at Childrens'. I didn't even have time to say goodbye to Steve for the last time because his health had taken a 90 degree turn in the wrong direction. The doctors were giving him two weeks. I couldn't say goodbye to Laurie. Around all this madness, how was I suppose to explain this to Sidney? I couldn't believe my eyes.
AN ARRANGED MARRIAGE? Who does that to their own kids?
